Diplomat tests positive for ‘historic’ COVID-19 infection, remains in quarantine | The Canberra Times




A diplomat has returned a positive test for COVID-19 but authorities say it was a “historic infection” that is not a risk to the community. The man in his 60s received the result “consistent with an historic infection of COVID-19” on his last day in quarantine. “The test result reflects prolonged shedding of virus fragments. This is known to happen intermittently for up to several months after a person is no longer infectious,” ACT Health said in a statement. “We are confident that the individual is not infectious and poses no risk to the community.
