ACT police use social media to arrest dangerous drivers | The Canberra Times

Dangerous drivers have been caught behaving badly after seemingly using social media to brag about their stunts. Several incidents of illegal behaviour have been bought to ACT police’s attention after members of the public have viewed videos posted by drivers online. Police have pointed to a YouTube video of a car meet in Canberra with about 14000 views as an example of the type of content leading to arrests. Detective Inspector Donna Hofmeier said police were currently examining recent videos posted online, following an increase in hoon behaviour. “Over the next couple of weeks, some of the people shown breaking traffic laws can expect to receive infringement notices,” she said.
